Getting away from Urban Stresses in the Peak District
The Peak District is an ideal getaway from the tensions and strains of city life. If you hail from Sheffield or Manchester, it’s reachable within an hour going by car or train and a wonderful location for a one or two day break, or even longer. If you’re driving from a place further away, we would say it’s better if you stay about a week as there’s much to get up to in the Peak area.
A good number of travellers associate the Peak District with summer holidays, but it’s stunning in all seasons, and in no other area of the UK is the season’s change more emphasised than in the Peak area.
As observed earlier, there’s plenty of activities in the Peak District. The glorious scenes compel people out of their hotels and onto long walks, and there’s a good deal of trails to ramble on – up to thirty well marked routes.
There’s also a great deal of sites to go fishing in and around the Peak District, particularly the Ladybower area. Even if you’re not disposed to such physical pasttimes, drive your car and check out Chatsworth House. Three of four hours at the house is recommended, the garden area in itself it’s possible to idle a good few hours in! Or travel to Buxton for lunch and a walk in the pavilion gardens, or the opera (yes, Buxton has its own Opera house). Not to forget the villages in the Hope Valley which are glorious .
